Doing it with style
Also after many requests, I have produced this pull-up version of the ultimate drop-down menu with 2 fly-out levels.
In order for this to work in Opera 9.01 I have had to take the tables out of the general styling and place them in the conditional comments for IE5.5 and IE6 only. This does make it simpler to control and perhaps should be adopted for all these menus making them more semantically correct for IE7 and non IE browsers.
This menu made use of something I had not come across before (you learn something new every day) and that was the use of :hover pseudo-class with no preceding element and when used in this way it appears to apply to any element in the particular style structure.
So here I have made use of this method to have just ONE cascading style sheet and just ONE style for all browsers, no separating the a:hover from the li:hover.
This is probably as far as this can be taken .... but you never know.
The CSS is so simple now and can be seen in the page head along with comments so that you can alter it to suit your requirements.
Works in IE5.5, IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Mozilla, Netscape latest versions and probaly a few Mac browsers.
