Information

In response to dozens of requests I have relented and created this CSS PLaY page to demonstrate more fully the method of adding this menu to an actual web page.

The selection menu across the head of the page is a working menu produced using the CSS PLaY drop down method (the original single level version discovered early 2003!).

REMEMBER : THIS IS JUST FOR FUN ;O)

As you will see from the markup this requires two menus to be set up, one for IE an the other for non-IE browsers.

It also requires two different css styles.

I HAVE NOW ADDED SINGLE LEVEL CASCADE IN THE DEMOS MENU!!

The IE menu works on the principle that IE is a little stupid and allows the nesting of links when the nested links are placed in a table.

The non-IE menu works on the principle that other browsers are a bit more advanced and allow :hover on other elements so we dont need nested links.

Because IE7 may correct this error I have placed the IE style in a conditional comment that excludes versions of IE above IE6.

Opera doesn't like the Googles ads and will put the drop down menu beneath them no matter what z-index is used. But I need the income so the ads stay ;o)

Opera will be ok in any other circumstance.

NOTE: Opera 9 corrects this problem.
