Doing it with style
Click version for IE8+, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome, iPad, iPad mini, iPhone and iPod Touch with hover fallback for IE7
As noted in the comments for the previous menu, it would be better if the iPad menu had a tap to open the sub menu action and a second tap on the same parent level to close the open sub menus.
The menu also demonstrates that it is possible to have the iPad register :hover on any element, and also demonstrates a new method of allowing you to tap anywhere on the screen to close an open sub menu.
So this menu addresses this problem and also changes the action slightly in that you only need one tap to open a sub menu.
I have also made the selection of a parent item easier by making the height larger. So even on the iPad mini there is no problem with tapping the wrong item.
The menu works the same as the previous menu on all PC and Mac browsers, but I have also added styles for IE7 which now works using mouse hovers to open sub menus as this browser does not support clicks on any element.
