Information

Now that we have tamed the :target pseudo-class so that there is no jump to the top of the browser window and no browser back button history we can use this to produce very complex CSS3 styling, and the above slideshow demonstrates this.

12th November 2012 - now using the latest technique of radio buttons to style permanent changes on mouse clicks.

The initial display is a grid of 3x3 thumbnail images and clicking the left or right arrows moves to another set of 3x3 thumbnails. There are 3 sets of thumbnails making 27 images in total.

Clicking a thumbnail image will replace the 3x3 thumbnails with the large image and caption (which can contain links to other pages) and now the left/right arrows will select the previous/next large image.

When viewing the 3x3 grid you can also click the photo icon at the top left to show the first large image in the grid displayed.

When viewing the large images, clicking the double photo icon at the top left will revert back to the 3x3 grid set which has the large image as a thumbnail.

In Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera the transitions between views will be animated (this is a little buggy in Opera) but in IE9 the views will be instantaneous.

In IE6, IE7 and IE8 you will just see one large image.
