Welcome to my Comments Pages

Please note. I get a few hundred emails a week from visitors asking for help, or posing questions on how to modify my demos to suit their application and I read them all. Unfortunately I only have a limited amount of time to spend answering these questions.

So if I do not reply, please do not be offended, and if I do reply then you are one of the lucky ones.

Stu:-
james, just look at the source code. The style is #scroll {unicode-bidi:bidi-override; direction:rtl; display:block; width:300px; height:100px; overflow:auto; padding:10px; border:1px solid #ba8; margin:0 auto;}
and the html is
<div id="scroll">
<div dir="ltr">
<p>This is a piece of text placed in a div that has a scroll bar on the LEFT</p>
<p>The text, however, ends up as being right justified so it will need another div to reset the direction.<br />
You can size the box anyhow you like but unfortunately not all browsers support this.</p>
<p>Might be useful for something though :)</p>
</div>
</div>

under Firefox 3 is rendered at right side, any chance to fit it under FF3?

Jack:-
Stu

In Firefox 3 the scroll bar is rendered on the right hand side of the div. No amount of tweaking from myself has come up with a solution - any thoughts?

Thanks in anticipation
Jack

I'm in Opera 9.6 and the scrollbar appears on the left for me. :)

Rafael:-
FF 3.6.6 - it's still on the right. However, as no-one's commented saying they've found a use for this "technique", I doubt it's critical that it's fixed!
