CSS MENUSAny width multi-level menu suitable for Android OS and touch screen devices

Date : 20th March 2013

For all modern browsers

This demo is too wide for your mobile screen.
Please view on a tablet or PC.

Information

This is the start of another section on menus suitable for touch screen devices which include the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, Windows Tablets etc..

The main problem with tablets is that it is not always intuitive that you have to tap the parent level once to open a sub menu then tap it again to action the link.

This menu gives one answer to the problem and that is to have the parent level as plain text and have the link as the first item in the sub menu.

So hover or tap the parent item to reveal the sub menu. The parent list item is then hidden and becomes the first item of the sub menu which is then a link.

This works on all touch screen devices including my main PC which is a Sony Vaio with a multi-touch screen (even when using IE7).

This menu also has CSS3 styling which can be seen in all but IE7 and IE8. It also automatically sizes to fit the list text and supports left and right flyouts from the dropdown level.
