Doing it with style
A simple menu using sliding-doors type effect to produce a button image similar to the Internet Explorer 'button'. The links do not go anywhere so that you can see the 'active' effect when you click a button.
Note that you will need to define the default link style for this to work correctly in IE6.
This menu uses three images rather than one combined image as this can cause problems in Safari. The markup just uses a <b> tag to hold the link text and produce the sliding doors effect.
