Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a SIMPLE mechanism for adding style (e.g. fonts, colors, spacing) to Web documents.
This site documents my attempts at understanding and exploring the possibilities of CSS. From standard navigation links to my more bizarre experimental techniques.
All my examples are produced with JUST CSS, no javascript, or any other language, has been used in any of the examples. The demonstrations are designed to work in all the latest browsers, but, if you're lucky, some may also work in earlier versions.
If you find anything useful then help yourself to the scripts, but I would ask you to respect my copyright with regard to the CSS images and the styles.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, I am constantly updating this front page to add more styles. This is my personal 'zen garden'.
See Alternative Styles for more information.
I must also apologise to visitors who are using old browsers as many of the examples will not work. But as you are here to investigate 'cutting edge CSS' I hope, and believe, that you will be using the latest browser versions.
The 'official' style for my web site is Black and White (B & W) but if you want a change you can choose from any of the alternatives below. The 'home page' alternatives all use the same html but have different css styles.
If you have a browsers that supports alternative style sheet switching then you can use that method but the style will not persist. There is a Firefox extension that will allow persistence available from: Style Sheet Chooser
I also have a javascript answer (the only javascript used on this site). Just click any of the style options below.
