Doing it with style
Taking the shrink wrap buttons a stage further we can produce a shrink wrap buttons menu. This time we can have transparent corners and reduce the 'extra' tags count down to just one.
The <li> tag holds one corner, the <a> tag the second corner, the <b> tag the third corner and finally the <em> tag the fourth corner. With the use of position:relative and negative placement we can have transparent corners.
A little bit of extra styling has been added for non-IE browsers to give an outline on hover.
This has been tested in IE5.5, IE6, IE7, Firefox, Opera, Netscape and Mozilla.
Again, just a single image is used which can be seen here - button image.
