Information

As mentioned in my previous demo it is possible to have a responsive menu that uses just a single menu with two stylesheet, one for the horizontal dropdown flyout menu used on PCs and the second for tablets and smartphones.

This menu works in all the latest browsers and operating systems including IE7+, touch screens, tablets and smartphones. IE7 and IE8 will only display the horizontal dropdown, flyout menu.

On PCs this works as a standard multi-level menu with hovers to open sub menus, which can have flyouts to the right and the left. the top level items can also be links

On touch screens the the first tap will open the sub menu and a second tap will activate the link.

When viewed on devices with a width less than 1024px the menu will collapse to a flyout menu with the usual three bar icon to open and close the menu. In this mode the sub menus are opened by clicking/tapping the arrows and the sub menus will slide into place. The first item in the sub menus is the breadcrumb path with a left arrow which is used to close the open sub menu.

If the top level menu or sub menus are longer than the tablet/smartphone height then the menu will have a vertical scrolling so that all links can be reached.
