Doing it with style
After many recent request for responsive multi-level menus I have now converted one of my dropdown menus so that it responds to variations in browser sizes.
Because not all browsers support @media-query I have written a small jQuery/javascript routine that gives support for all these 'non-supporting' browsers.
The jQuery routine is very simple and just switches in/out specific stylesheet depending on the screen width.
I have removed the jQuery routine as really not necessary, so IE7 and IE8 will not see a responsive menu but will work as a standard multi level menu.
So this is a dropdown menu with top level links that works in the following browsers:
IE9, IE10 & IE10 Touch Screens, Chrome, Safari, Opera, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android Firefox including Touch Screens, Android Chrome including Touch Screens, Android Opera including Touch Screens, Early versions of all browsers without @media-query support but not responsive.
