CSS MENUS CSS3 Dropdown menu with sub menu persist

This demo is too wide for your mobile screen.
Please view on a tablet or PC.
A dropdown menu with hover to show the sub menus.
In this version the sub menus stay open even when moving the mouse off the menu in all browsers except IE9).
To close an open sub menu just hover any of the top level list items or the red cross at the top left of each sub menu.
IE9 will just see this as a simple dropdown menu with no persisit.
The iPad etc. requires the addition of onclick="void(0)" to accept :hover on the top level <span>s.
