Doing it with style
Just a glimpse of the future of CSS, a demonstation of what is coming with CSS3 but not quite here yet.
This demonstration is only visible in Safari and Google Chrome and even then only using -webkit styling. Safari has better quality rounded corners similar to those of Firfeox, whereas Google Chrome has very 'blocky' corners.
But no doubt this will be seen in more browsers in the coming months.
This menu has an animated 'slide-down / slide-up' action for the sub menus which also have CSS3 border radii and CSS3 drop shadows with transparency.
So no more need to use javascript / jQuery to produce this and it only takes a couple of lines of style.
This demo still needs a little refining but that will be the subject of the next demo in this series.
17th April 2010 - Now working in Opera and Firefox.
Because of all the time and effort spent in producing this demonstration I would ask that you respect my copyright.
