Doing it with style
This has been asked for many times so here it is. The previous horizontal scrolling gallery changed into a vertical scrolling one and using the latest techniques which work in all the modern browsers. Well almost.
This use the :active and :focus states to hold a clicked image on the page until another mouse click is made, but Safari and Google Chrome handle mouse clicks in a different way to other browsers so the image will only stay on screen in these two browsers whilst the mouse key is held down.
Also IE will cancel the mouse click when using the scroll bar. So you will need to use the mouse wheel to scroll if you want the full size image to stay on screen.

Now working correctly in Safari and Chrome.
