Doing it with style
A couple of years ago I produced a simple method of using css to give the appearance of animation. This was a very crude method which was just for fun and can be seen here THE STREAKER.
As you can see, this method just followed the cursor with a series of :hovers that produced the effect of movement. You could start at any point between the doors and move backwards as well as forwards.
A nice idea but not at all cutting edge.
So here is my latest attempt, streaker mark 2, the sequel.
Just pass your mouse over the marked square in any direction, left to right, top to bottom etc. and see the streaker run.
If you are using Firefox or Opera v8.54 then just touch the outside of the square and the animation will auto run.
This one will only run in one direction, you cannot make him run backwards and once he has completed his streak you will have to move the mouse off the square to be able to make him run again.
If you can understand how this works then award yourself a 'css gold star' as this really is quite complex.

This can now be done easily with css transitions and keyframes.
Because of all the time and effort spent in producing this demonstration I would ask that you respect my copyright.
Your donations keep CSS PLAY running.
