Doing it with style
Back to the simple stuff again...
If you have a web page that uses animated gifs to demonstrate a principle but you don't want the animation to play endlessly, then this may be the answer.
This is a simple way to have a static image when the page first loads and requires interaction with the visitor to start and stop the animation.
The static image is held as a background image whilst the animated gif loads into the page but remains invisible until your visitor either click the image or hovers over the image (the choice is yours).
Both methods are shown above and they work in all the major browsers. Opera requires the mouse click to be held for option 1. You can even click option 1 AND hover over option 2 to see both animations
This degrades well for CSS off and text only browsers.
Because of all the time and effort spent in producing this demonstration I would ask that you respect my copyright.
Your donations keep CSS PLAY running.
