Doing it with style
Using CSS3 3D transforms and keyframes to map the surface of some planets and the moon onto a sphere with animation.
As usual this is very smooth in Safari, a little jerky in Chrome with Firefox having the most jerky animation.
The initial image map is that of the Earth, but by clicking MOON, MARS or JUPITER you can change the map to that body.
The mapping and 3D animation is just CSS, with the map changer using jQuery.
I have just changed the map switcher from jQuery to CSS so that the demonstration does not use any javascript.
Because of all the time and effort spent in producing this demonstration I would ask that you respect my copyright.
