CSS DEMOSCSS play Permanent Image Gallery using :target without the jump

Date : 16th November 2011

For all modern browsers

This demo is too wide for your mobile screen.
Please view on a tablet or PC.

At last! using :target without the jump to the top of browser window.

Information

At last, after many years of searching, I have found a way to use :target to produce a permanent image photo gallery without the initial jump to the top of the browser window.

Just click any of the thumbnail images to see the large image slide into view, and the page stays where it is - NO JUMP.

The large image will stay in view even if you click elsewhere on the page.

The only downside is that the browser 'back' button will reverse through the images clicked. But you can also load the page with any of the images in view by adding the target id to the page url, for example cssplay-click-target-no-jump.html#target8
