CSS DEMOSImage magnifier version three

Date : 29th June 2012

For all modern browsers

Information

After seeing this demo on dablet.com I thought that I might put this method to a useful purpose, so here is my demo which uses the same principle.

Hover the image to see an array of pointers overlayed on the image with an opaque rectangle beneath. To the right there will be a large image showing the section beneath the opaque overlay.

Click and hold the mouse button on any of the arrows to move the opaque overlay in that direction and then release the mouse button to stop the movement. The overlay will stay positioned and the large image will reflect the newly selected area. Click and hold the center circle to move the overlay back to the center of the image.

Moving the mouse off the image will close the large image and the controls, and if you hover the image again it will remember the last position selected.

Because of all the time and effort spent in producing this demonstration I would ask that you respect my copyright.

  1. If you are using this on a personal web site then please retain the copyright comment in the stylesheet.
A support donation is now required for this demonstration.
  2. If you are using this on a commercial web site, or as a paying job for a client, then please email me asking for permission - stu{at}cssplay.co.uk and again a support donation is required.
  3. If you are having problems integrating any of my demonstrations into your website then I now offer a service to fault find and correct any errors that you may have introduced. Please email me for more information.
