CSS DEMOSCSS3 - The future now - Carousel Slideshow

Date : 25th February 2011

For all modern browsers

This demo is too wide for your mobile screen.
Please view on a tablet or PC.

Information

Absolutely NO javascript.

Now that the Safari general sibling selector bug when used with the :hover pseudo-class has a workaround we can make use of this style to produce an animated Carousel Slideshow to rival those produced by javascript but only taking a few lines of style.

Just hover the images to see them enlarge to twice size and rotate to the center of the window. Hovering the smaller images to the left will rotate the carousel to the right, and hovering the smaller images to the right will rotate the carousel to the left.

This is only for Safari, Chrome, Opera and Firefox at the moment. Safari has the smoothest animations followed closely by Chrome, with Opera have problems with the shadows and Firefox v4 little jerky.

No chance of this working in Internet Explorer though, unless you want to use TIME action.

See next demo for a NEW click version of this demo that works in Safari, Chrome, Opera and Firefox.

Now working in IE10 and IE10 with touch screen.
