Doing it with style
Based on an original idea by Román Cortés
Applying the previous example of animation to the demonstration by Román Cortés we can remove the need for the scroll bar and allow the mouse to do the scrolling. Well we could in Safari and Chrome if they implemented the 'general sibling selector' fully and allowed this to be select the sibling element on :hover.
However, it does work in Firefox, Opera AND IE8. In Opera just the mouse moving over the image box to see the animation, in Firefox and IE8 just place your mouse in the box (there is no need to move the mouse) and it will trigger the animation.
Remember this is only for fun and the original idea for the overlay is all due to Román Cortés.
The only 'niggle' I have with this is that the can does a reverse roll.
Because of all the time and effort spent in producing this demonstration I would ask that you respect my copyright.
