torg, this is a bit nit-picking but you are right in that the validator doesn't recognise three of the color names. I did it this way so that you could see the colors rather than have to work out what was what. I could always replace these three colors with their hex equivalents (orange = #fc0 etc). Ok?

Just to be PC (CSS) correct I have changed the style so that the offending color codes are now in hex rather than names ;o)

I subscribe after Matt's request... how did you do that? I mean, I've seen the elements and their relative CSS rules, but where are the "triangle images" that can be seen on IE?

By the way, my most sincere "Bravo!" for your works - I'm fascinated about CSS power - even though I'm a beginner - or just because I am so?.

A little note, the CSS Validator can't validate any CSS3 conformance, as Level 3 is still a draft. It also misses to recognize the "transparent" color set for the borders.

I *am not* nit-picking ;) I think that some browsers and some designers are a step ahead of those specs, I reported that just in case you didn't notice the above things.

Again, my compliments for your efforts, your site is a rich vein of inspiration!

Uh! Just took a deeper browse to your site, and just discovered that you're *not* using images at all! I catched it looking at your Tunnel Vision Demo: diagonal lines are the joint-lines of the differently-coloured borders of each element! Really, really cool! As stated above, I am a CSS apprentice, and before coming to this site I've done a simple dropdown menu and an auto-hiding thumbnail bar - hope you don't mind for the following link, as it is all about free, ads-less stuff: "spazioinwind.libero.it/entuland"
Both the menu and the thumbs-bar can be found in the image galleries (just click on a picture in the main gallery pages).
Thank you again: your cutting-edge CSS is really sharp ;)

I've been racking my brain - and now it is well and truly wracked - to figure out how the diagonals work. It seems to have something to do with the "dotted" property (if I omit that, the rainbow breaks). It also seems to have something to do with the order of divs in the body, and that "green" is an outer div (if I change the order of the inner divs, it breaks).

But where do the diagonals come from?
