I like the way you did that menu. I recently created a menu with bullet points with borders, and quite frankly i couldn't be bothered saving images of the default and hover images for them. Instead I borrowed your idea, but just floated the span left and played with some margins so the link text and the bullet would be inline with each other and it worked like a charm. So far i haven't seen any bugs with it in IE6 or Firefix so it looks like it stays. Maybe you could add something similar as an alternative example.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Hello, I tried doing something similar to your no lists menu. However without the spaces. Here it is https://qleyo.co.uk/c2c/testing.htm
It works fine with firefox, netscape, IE mac and safari, but not with IE. please help? Thanks

Stu:-
If you are referring to the fact that IE is 'higher' than the image along side which then pushes the rest of the page out of alignment then this is down to your calculations. You have 8 links each with a height of 22px and a top/bottom padding of 3px giving a total height per link of 28px. So the overall height of your nav div is 224px. The height of your image div is 176px + 2px +2px = 180px.

Stu:-
Change the #nav a height to 16px and get rid of the html>body #nav a {height: 16px; /* ie5win fudge ends */} because this does not target IE5. Use * html #nav a {height:22px; he(backslash)ight:16px;} instead (insert a backslash where indicated).

Very nice and unique menu. I have used it on my site here mkjsworld.com, with a link back. Funny enough I can see you are using Alex's script for these comments and I have altered his Weblog to be my first page of my site.

Mark, you may find that you will eventually get robot comments spam (as I have done recently). They appear to target Alex's scripts as they do not have any protection.
This has led me to modifiy the script to put a basic security feature.

This bit missing from the CSS file shown on the example menu-3. Without it the menu appears in a vertical strip. not as shown above

dl#artist{
width:30em;
margin:10px auto 50px auto;
}

Irene:-
Hi there, for some reason this menu is appearing vertical in IE, but horizontal in other browsers... any idea why this might be and how to fix it?

Cheers!
